Commercial zero-turn mower cutting stripes into a large Metro Detroit lawn

Lawn Care Service

Lawn Care Service in Metro Detroit

Mowing, feeding, weed control, and seasonal cleanups handled by one owner-operated crew out of Taylor.

You get a lawn that stays thick, even, and cleanly edged from the first cut in April to the last cleanup in November — without having to chase anyone down for it. Getting there in southeast Michigan is mostly about timing. The grass here — Kentucky bluegrass, fescue, and perennial rye in some mix — wakes up hungry in April, grows hard through June, stalls out in the July heat, and then gets one more strong push in September. Our whole lawn care program is built around that curve instead of a one-size-fits-all schedule. We're always accepting new clients, whether you want lawn care only or lawn and snow together.

What a Sunnyside lawn care visit includes

Every mowing visit covers the full property, not just the open turf. We cut at the height the season calls for, trim around the house, fence line, trees, and mailbox, edge the hard surfaces where they need it, and blow the drive, walks, and porch clean before we pull the trailer up. If a gate is locked or a dog is out, we call rather than skipping the back yard and charging you for it.

  • Mow: commercial zero-turn on open lawns, walk-behind for tight or gated yards.
  • Trim: string trimming around every obstacle, not just the easy edges.
  • Edge: crisp lines along drives and walks on a rotating schedule.
  • Blow: all hard surfaces cleared so there are no clippings left behind.

Clay soil is the real problem in Metro Detroit

Most yards from Redford through Taylor sit on heavy clay. Clay compacts under foot traffic and mowers, which chokes roots and leaves you with thin, pale grass no matter how much fertilizer goes down. That's why core aeration and overseeding matter more here than almost anywhere else, and why we push customers toward a fall aeration instead of another round of product.

Residential and commercial

We maintain single-family homes, rentals, small apartment properties, churches, and small commercial lots. Commercial accounts get a set service day and a point of contact who actually picks up the phone. Larger properties can be bundled with a seasonal snow contract so the same crew handles the site all year.

A Program, Not a One-Time Treatment

One bag of fertilizer in May doesn't build a thick lawn. Our fertilization program spreads feedings across the year and pairs them with weed control so you're not fighting crabgrass and clover all summer. Add a spring and fall cleanup and the lawn starts and ends each season in good shape.

Serving All of Metro Detroit

Our lawn care routes cover Taylor, Allen Park, Southgate, Dearborn Heights, Dearborn, Westland, Romulus, Wyandotte, and the surrounding communities. Being route-based keeps drive time down, which is how a small crew keeps pricing reasonable and shows up on the same day each week.

Common Questions

How often should a Michigan lawn be mowed?
Weekly from late April through June, when cool-season grass grows fastest. July and August often stretch to every 10 days if it stays dry, then it picks back up in September. We adjust the route instead of cutting on a rigid schedule that scalps the lawn in a drought.
What height do you cut at?
Most Metro Detroit lawns do best between 3 and 3.75 inches. Taller grass shades the soil, holds moisture through July, and crowds out crabgrass. We raise the deck in the heat and drop it slightly for the last cut of the year.
Do you bag clippings?
Not by default. Mulching clippings returns nitrogen to the lawn and is better for the turf. If growth got ahead of us or you prefer a bagged finish, we can bag it for an added charge.
Can I get lawn care and snow removal from the same company?
Yes, and most of our customers do. Same crew, same route, one number to call — your property stays on our list from the first spring cleanup through the last salt run in March.
