Edging and Bed Maintenance
Crisp lines between turf and mulch, and beds that stay clean instead of slowly disappearing.
Ask anyone why one house on the block looks better than the identical one next door and they usually cannot tell you. It is almost always the edges. A defined line between lawn and bed reads as intentional; a fuzzy, grass-invaded border reads as neglected, even when everything else is done right.
What is included
- Hand or machine-cut spade edge along beds, trees, and walks
- Weeding by hand where it counts, spot treatment where it does not
- Raking and fluffing existing mulch to refresh color
- Trimming back plants creeping onto walks and drives
- Debris hauled off, hard surfaces blown clean
Maintenance beats rescue
Beds do not go bad overnight. They go bad over about six weeks of nobody looking at them. Regular short visits cost a fraction of a full bed reset, and they keep weeds from setting seed, which is what turns a small problem into next year's big one.
Pairs with mulch
Most customers do one mulch installation in spring and then keep the beds on maintenance through the season. The mulch stays looking new far longer when the edge is holding and the weeds never get established.

Common Questions
- What is a spade edge?
- A hand-cut trench between the lawn and the bed, angled so mulch stays put and grass roots cannot creep across. It looks better than plastic edging and it does not heave out of the ground every winter.
- How often do beds need edging?
- One clean cut in spring holds the line for most of the year, with a touch-up in midsummer. Properties with aggressive turf right against the beds do better with a light re-cut every few visits.
- Do you weed beds on regular mowing visits?
- Only if bed maintenance is part of your plan. It is a separate line item because it takes real time, but it is the difference between a property that looks maintained and one that just looks mowed.
