Landscaping Services in Metro Detroit
Mulch, hedges, edges, and bed work — the details that make a maintained property look maintained.
You can have the best-cut lawn on the block and it still won't look right if the beds are washed out and the hedges are shaggy. Bed work is where a property either looks cared for or looks like somebody just mows it. That's the difference this side of our business is for.
Beds first, then the details
A bed reset starts with pulling weeds and clearing last year's matted mulch, then cutting a fresh spade edge so the bed has a defined line. After that, new hardwood mulch goes down at about three inches — deep enough to smother weeds and hold moisture, not so deep that it piles against trunks and rots them.
Shrubs and hedges on the right schedule
Hedge and shrub trimming is timing-sensitive in Michigan. Cut a lilac at the wrong time and you lose a year of blooms. Cut evergreens too late in fall and the new growth gets burned by the first hard freeze. We work off what the plant is, not what week it happens to be.
Keeping it that way
Between the big resets, our edging and bed maintenance visits keep grass from creeping back into the mulch and pull weeds before they seed. Paired with a weekly stop from our lawn care service, the whole property stays sharp instead of swinging between spotless and overgrown.
Landscaping Services We Offer

One-Time or Ongoing
Plenty of customers call us once for a spring mulch job and handle the rest themselves. Others want the beds touched every visit. Both are fine — tell us which one you are and we'll quote it that way.
Common Questions
- How much mulch does a typical bed need?
- About one cubic yard covers 100 square feet at 3 inches deep. A standard Metro Detroit ranch with front beds and a tree ring usually lands between 3 and 6 yards. We measure before quoting so you're not paying for guesswork.
- When should hedges be trimmed in Michigan?
- Most evergreens and boxwoods get their main shaping in late June after the spring flush, with a light touch-up in late August. Spring-flowering shrubs like lilac and forsythia are pruned right after they bloom, or you cut off next year's flowers.
- Do you do full landscape design and installation?
- We focus on maintenance landscaping — mulch, edging, trimming, bed cleanup, and small plantings. For large hardscape or full redesign projects we'll tell you straight and point you to someone who does that work daily.
